[Post Conference Devo] Psalm 96:12

Psalm 96:12

…let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy…

The whole of creation exists for the celebration of God’s glory, from the largest galaxy to the smallest molecule. God is a happy God. Delight was in Him as He created. (Prov 8:30-31). And His creation reflects that delight. Jesus said as He rode into Jerusalem that if the people didn’t praise Him, the ‘very stones would cry out’! (Luke 19:40) If this is the purpose even of the stones in the street and the trees of the forest, how much more true it is for us! Our lives are to be a celebration of our Creator. And we have more to celebrate than the trees. Of all things the Lord has created we’re not only made in His image but redeemed in Christ to truly know and love Him. As those in the work of spiritual leadership, we want to model in everything delight in our King. To sing and make music in our hearts to the Lord (Eph 5:19), to have the full measure of Jesus’ joy overflowing in our lives as a fruit of the Spirit. (John 17:13)  Not a happiness based on our circumstances, but in  the Lord always (Phil 4:4), a delight in our all-satisfying Creator and Redeemer who doesn’t change. Lord Jesus, may my life and ministry overflow with delight in You at all times, a song of joy to the One who made me and saved me.

Pray for CO San Diego:

  • God to open up more doors to more students in more places – fraternities and sororities, athletic teams, etc.
